The objective of innovations in eRobotics is to provide a comprehensive software environment for the processing of issues and questions arising out of robotics. To this end eRobotics brings “robotics expertise into the research fields of virtual reality (VR) and 3D simulation”. Conversely eRobotics thereby facilitates the use of virtual worlds for the optimization of the development of robotic hardware and algorithms. What is thereby achieved is an exceptionally efficient symbiosis between VR and robotics technologies. As a result of this MMI can depend on a comprehensive software framework for the efficient implementation of virtual worlds. This framework provides all necessary software and hardware techniques for the preparation of convincing virtual worlds from modelling to rendering, animation, simulation, visualization and interaction, all the way through to user feedback. Qualifying as highlights here are large format projections systems or MMI’s Motion Simulator.
